Itinerary details::

Embark on a captivating journey at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a haven for critically endangered wildlife. Your exploration begins at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to encounter these fascinating primates. Learn about their plight and the vital conservation efforts underway.

to the rhino sanctuary, the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. Observe both black and white rhinos while contributing to their continued protection. As you traverse the conservancy on your game drive, keep your eyes peeled for a diverse array of wildlife. Time permitting, delve into the rich cultural heritage of the Maasai people with a visit to a traditional village. Conclude your unforgettable experience with a commemorative photograph at the equator, marking your visit to this remarkable part of the world.

 

Day 1:

Morning: Depart from Nairobi

  • Depart from Nairobi and drive north towards Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Enjoy scenic views of the Kenyan countryside, including lush tea and coffee plantations. Make a stop at one of the farms to learn about the cultivation process and sample some of the local produce.

 Mid-morning: Arrival at the Equator line

  • Arrive at the Equator line, a unique opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at once. There’s usually a small ceremony or demonstration here to mark the occasion.

Afternoon:  Arrival and Check in at your Camp

  • Check in to your chosen accommodation at Ol Pejeta  right within the conservancy. Enjoy lunch and some relaxation time at the camp.

Late afternoon:  Afternoon Game drive at Ol-Pejeta Conservancy

  • Head out on your first game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Explore the vast savanna plains and keep an eye out for elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and other wildlife. This is also a great time to spot the endangered black rhinos for which Ol Pejeta is famous.

Day 2:

 Morning:  Visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary

  • After breakfast, visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a heartwarming project that provides a safe haven for orphaned and rescued chimpanzees. Learn about their rehabilitation process and observe their behaviour in a semi-wild environment.

Mid-morning:  Morning Game Drive at Ol-Pejeta

  • Enjoy another exciting game drive in Ol Pejeta, focusing on different areas of the conservancy you might not have covered the previous day.

Afternoon: After lunch, depart from Ol Pejeta and head back to Nairobi.

  • Depending on your interests and time constraints, you can consider adding a visit to a Maasai village to learn about their unique culture and traditions.

Optional activities:

Night game drives: Experience the thrill of searching for nocturnal animals in the savannah.

Visit the Endangered Species Enclosure to learn about Ol Pejeta’s conservation efforts for critically endangered northern white rhinos.

  Evening:  Arrival in Nairobi

  • Arrive back in Nairobi, bringing your Nanyuki – Ol Pejeta adventure to an end.
